Shipping Your Frame for Powder Coating: A Step-by-Step Guide

Within 3 business days of your order we ship a foam-lined plywood crate to you, sized for your specific frame model (Sur-Ron, Talaria Sting, Talaria XXX, custom). Crate ships FedEx Ground with tracking.

Inside the crate: the return shipping label, a packing checklist, a roll of masking tape for any spots you want preserved, and a small bag for stray hardware.

Drop the bare frame into the foam cradle — it's cut for your model, so it only fits one way. Wrap any protruding dropouts or threaded inserts with the tape provided. Close the crate, drive the four screws back in (a power driver works; manual is fine), and slap the return label on top.

You can hand the crate to any FedEx location, or schedule a free pickup at fedex.com using the tracking number on the label. Most riders prefer pickup — the crate weighs ~25 lb with frame inside.

Average transit from anywhere in the contiguous US is 3–5 business days. You'll get an email when the crate lands at our Eagan, MN shop, and again when your frame goes into pre-treatment.

Your turnaround clock (5–7 business days for standard finishes) starts on arrival, not on ship date.

We reuse the same crate to ship back. Frame is wrapped in soft foam sleeves over the cured coating to prevent any rub damage in transit. Insured to full frame value, signature required on delivery. When it arrives, follow our care guide to keep the finish looking new.
